Hello and welcome to our new website. We'll be expanding it and adding more content over the coming weeks and months.

We've spent the past two years working on our fifth LP, the follow-up to Transmeridian (Violette Records 2021), Too Late To Die Young (Bella Union/Naive/Nettwerk 2002), Jetlag Dreams (Bella Union/Instinct 2001) and Out Of Here (Meek Giant 1999).

Initial sessions for the new album took place at Echo Zoo Studios in Eastbourne, on the south coast of England, where most of the backing tracks were composed / improvised and recorded live with engineer Dan Crook (Peter Perrett, Nadine Shah) during the town's annual International Airshow, Airbourne.

For this album we've made full use of the four multi-instrumentalists and three singers in the band and our sound has evolved accordingly. New recruit, old friend and bassist Simon Edwards (Beth Gibbons, David Gray, Talk Talk, Alain Bashung etc.) has steered the ship from his River Fleet Studios in North London, where more tracks and overdubs were recorded and the album was mixed.

Standout tracks include Love In The Stars, This Is What Keeps Me Alive (featuring - for the second DL album in a row - special guest Peter Buck from R.E.M. on his Rickenbacker 12-string), Let’s Talk About Death and the bluesy Breakfast with Marti, which documents an unexpected rendezvous in a café in Eastbourne with Wet Wet Wet frontman, Marti Pellow. The namedrops are deafening.
